DOYIT Project Reaches Mid-term

DOYIT Project Reaches Mid-term 1512 2016 Creativitas

The Developing Online Youth Information Trainings (DOYIT) project reached its mid-term, which gave an opportunity for the consortium to look back on the past year and its achievements. The project is set out to adapt 4 training courses of the European Youth Information and Counselling Agency to an eLearning environment, to increase their outreach and the training opportunities provided for youth information workers.

Despite the charged agenda, the project has accomplished all its aims for the first year and this way the Digital YIntro and Youth on the Move – InfoMobility (YoMIM) eLearning courses are being piloted. The eLearning Kit is equally accessible to train eTrainers who can deliver these courses in the future. This relies on a Quality tool that is stored on the Moodlerooms platform, just as the other outputs.

The DOYIT consortium held their mid-term meeting in Tallinn, Estonia on 11-13 October 2017. The project partners revised the developments of the project so far and agreed on next steps and future activities, taking the experience from the first year into account.

DOYIT is a 2-year EU-funded project that runs between October 2016 and September 2018 in the framework of the Erasmus+ Youth in Action Programme, Key Action 2.

The aims and objectives of the project are:

  • Developing a complementary version of 4 ERYICA courses (Digital YIntro, YoMIM, Jimmy and ALTYO) using online curricula;
  • Increasing the outreach and efficacy of these 4 ERYICA trainings by adaptation to an online environment and by translation;
  • Familiarising youth information workers, youth workers, and trainers with new training and learning methodologies using online environments;
  • Defining quality assessment tools and evaluation methodologies for online courses in the youth work sector; and
  • Further promoting the ERYICA Quality Management Catalogue to further increase the quality level of youth information and counselling services.

The project consortium consists of 10 partners from 9 countries, involving organisations from both the formal and non-formal education sectors. The project partners are:

  • Austrian Youth Information Centres

  • Association of Croatian Youth Information Centres

  • Egomind

  • Humak University of Applied Sciences
  • Koordinaatti

  • Youth Work Ireland

  • Creativitas

  • European Youth Information and Counselling Agency (coordinator)

  • Portuguese Institute of Youth and Sports

  • Catalan Youth Agency

In summary, the project focuses on innovation and development of new training methodologies in cooperation of the formal and non-formal education sectors, while building on the success of youth information training courses already existing.
